Sons of the American Legion Petaluma Yountville Veterans Home Christmas Gifts
December 9, 2020, Al Delsid and his wife drove to the Yountville Veterans Home to deliver the donations to the Yountville Volunteer Services Coordinator. Due to the COVID restrictions, we were not authorized to enter the premises. We dropped off the gifts near the CHP office at the entry.I delivered a $900.00 check from the Mighty 5th District – Son’s of the American Legion.
Al also delivered a box of 5 lap blankets and 39 cotton face masks that were donated by local Cloverdale citizens. Many thanks to our 5th District SAL Squadron participants and Post 28 for your donations:
Squadron 28 – Petaluma – $100.00 Post 28 – Petaluma – $100.00 Squadron 101 – Benicia -$100.00 Squadron 111 – Healdsburg – $100.00 Squadron 113 – Napa – $100.00 Squadron 208 – Dixon – $200.00 Squadron 293 – Cloverdale – $100.00 Squadron 338- Rohnert Park – $100.00
Al wrote a note to Adrianne James-Singh explaining where the donations were to be assigned. $300 was designated for Gift Cards from the BX and the balance $600 to help stock “Gwen’s Closet” where any veteran can stop in and get needed personal items. Gwen’s Closet was named after our friend Gwen Robinson who passed away from COVID in July. Gwen was the volunteer coordinator who we worked with for several years of our adoption of the K-Wing at Yountville.
